Between the welcoming lounge, the wine library and its large vinyl collection—all tucked away in a well-designed brick building in the middle of an industrial corridor—you already knew Ada Street was a pretty cool and unique spot. But now with the opening of its backyard retreat, the 50-seat spot owned by Michael Kornick and David Morton took things up another notch.

Ada Street opened its renovated backyard area June 6 and, like the restaurant itself, is somewhat unlike any place where you've hung out in the city. Complete with an environmentally friendly lawn, a wood-burning fire pit, picnic tables and a ping pong table, the backyard feels like an urban park setting where you set up for a family BBQ. Chef Zoe Schor introduces new themed menus each month and for June, it's all about picnics. On deck for July: cook-out. Want to chill in the yard? Get there early as it's first-come, first-served starting at 6 p.m. each night Ada is open.
