I’ve been trying for awhile now to find a great activity/group for my wife and I to join, but let’s face it Chicago is a singles town. It can be tough sometimes being the only couple in your group of friends or trying to find activities and organizations that aren’t geared toward single folks.

This is why I wanted to try and get a dinner club for couples started. If you are married, in a long term relationship, or have just been going out awhile and looking to expand your social circle this group may be just what you’re looking for. Let me emphasize this is not a swingers club! Ideally, you will be going home with the person you came with :) . I’m going to start us out with a BYOB restaurant. I haven’t picked an exact location but it will be in the Lakeview area. We live on the north side so most of the places will be in that area. (Nothing further south then downtown). I’m going to start out with the group meeting once a month the 2nd Wednesday of the month around 7:30. We may alter dates and time once the group is more established. Each couple can bring whatever beverage they like Beer, Wine, etc. Sharing is encouraged, but not required.

A few other things; The group does not have any age requirements, but ages 24 to 35 will probably be most comfortable. While I’m not trying to create a college party atmosphere (at all), I do enjoy having a few drinks, so alcohol will be involved. Gay and Lesbian couples are welcome, but we are a straight couple and this is not an LGBT club. Parents are strongly encouraged to come out, but please leave the kids at home. Most of the Restaurants will have menus items in the $8- $16 Range. Please do not reply if you are single (kind of defeats the purpose).

I would like to have the first get together on Wednesday December 9th at 7:30. If you are a couple looking to meet other fun couples, network, or just have a fun night out then feel free to respond to this add. What began as party music, hip-hop has evolved to encompass countless styles and trends. From party jams to socially conscious music and gangsta rap to retro, hip hop continues to evolve. At the forefront of the evolution is a surprising group affectionately referred to as LMFAO.

Everyone today understands what the acronym LMFAO means. It’s an acronym that has made its way into popular American vernacular. That fact is not lost on Red Foo and Sky Blu, the members of LMFAO. One conversation with the guys of LMFAO will lead anyone to the conclusion that LMFAO aren’t the center of attention they are the life of the party. For a group that is at the core of the Los Angeles party culture – Even Paris Hilton calls them her friends – LMFAO was a perfect name for the group. Although light-hearted and a little comedic, LMFAO may have just innocently discovered a brand new sound and musical genre - A new subculture of American hip-hop they have deemed “New 80’s.” “People would ask us what type of music we make and we’d tell them, ‘Electro hip-hop,’ but now we just say ‘New 80’s’,” Red Foo explains.

It has been said that perfect vision only works in reverse. It is only now that LMFAO can connect the dots of their past and visualize their future. What originally started out as a simple request for ghost production on a DJ AM produced commercial has led to the discovery of a new sound that seems to be catching momentum. DJ AM, celebrity DJ and pop culture fixture, is best known for pioneering a new DJ culture of mixing genres of music. Red Foo recalls working with AM, “He hired me to work on some ghost production on a commercial. He was into this whole electro thing and was saying that all the DJs were into this stuff. At the time, he was creating a theme night at the club called, ‘Banana Split,’ with DJ Steve Aoki so he gave us a CD with all these different beats. It reminded us of hip-hop, but on some futuristic stuff. We were inspired.”

Red Foo and Sky Blu’s relationship with DJ AM blossomed and the group was eventually invited to DJ for New Years 2007 at LAX, the LA based celebrity hot spot owned by DJ AM. The only advice AM offered to LMFAO was simple, “Follow the crowd and don’t be afraid to change the genre.” Foo and Blu quickly learned how to please the crowd. As DJs, LMFAO wanted to find music that had great transitions so musically it would be easier to change from one genre to the other. As producers and artists, they had the ability to create that music. It was a natural evolution.

“We started making music not for radio, not for consumers, but for the DJs. Even if we make a sad song lyrically, we still wanted our song to work at a party,” says Red Foo. Actually, Red Foo’s musical counterpart, Sky Blu is decidely less vocal and the two share a Jay and Silent Bob type of relationship. But, both are in total agreement regarding their reason for first deciding to create music in addition to playing music as DJs.

As artists, LMFAO continue to push the envelope of musical boundaries, but they also haven’t taken themselves too seriously. In fact, their personalities are the polar opposite to seriousness. LMFAO has developed quite an earnest following because of their easygoing fun nature. With thousands of Myspace friends and even more Youtube hits, LMFAO is already a viral phenom Online. Red Foo and Sky Blu speak directly to the technologic savvy skeptical MTV Generation. Actually, a mish-mash of insanly funny and crazy outlandish over-the-top personality filled clips have already gotten the group banned from Youtube for creating an insanely popular low-budget music video for their song, “I’m In Miami Bitch,” filmed on the streets and in the hotels of Miami during this past year’s Winter Music Conference. When Youtube informed Foo and Blu that they had banned their video for inappropriate content, the guys simply responded with, “Don’t judge us you bastards.” Since then, LMFAO’s popularity has sky-rocketed.

Another source of LMFAO’s popularity comes from a clever remix of Fergie’s song, “Clumsy.” The remix received a great amount of radio airplay in 2007 and continues to gain on the charts. Surely evidence of the group’s rising stardom is their recently signed publishing deal with the UK company, Global Talent, the musical home to Grammy Award winning artist Corrine Bailey Rae and many others.

With a mountain of new music such as the inspirational “Everyday I See My Dream,” and the infectious “YES,” LMFAO is poised to not only find their own groove but create one for others to follow. Casting Director Tips To Get The Job

1. Be prepared. Know your craft. Auditions are your way to market your skills and demonstrate your value to the entertainment industry.

2. Be professional and courteous - to everyone- from the security guard at the front gate of the studio to the receptionist to the casting director, and everyone in the audition room. A performer’s personal behavior speaks volumes. Talent is hired on 3 things, your look. talent and your professionalism.

3. Be punctual. Casting takes place in a fast-paced environment and casting directors appreciate consideration of their time and schedules. Don’t waste their time! Be personable and responsive, but don’t talk too much or overstay your welcome.

4. Headshots and resumes. Make sure your headshot looks like you. Airbrush all you want, but you better look like just like your photo when you walk into that room. Always have extra headshots and resumes on hand at every audition.

5. Presentation. Make sure you can be seen and heard. Position yourself so that your face is visible (also, keep long hair out of your face). If you can’t be seen or heard, your performance is lost. Dressing for a role is fine, but don’t wear a costume. Wear something that suggests the character or the profession and let your performance do the rest.

6. Do your homework. Know who you are auditioning for. By researching the director, casting director, producer and show, you may find connections to other people or projects, and learn about the style or genre of a project or its creators.

7. Don’t let anything throw you. You have a right to be there, you were invited there to audition. When other performers enter the waiting room and don’t look like you, think about yourself as “the other way to go.” Often the casting process is about exploring various ways to go with a character, so stay confident and show them how you would do the role. If you’re asked to read another role or make an adjustment, take a moment, and then do your best to do what is asked of you.

8. Be gracious and receptive. Be open to direction. Don’t challenge, make excuses or try to explain yourself. Stay open and easy to direct. Casting directors may want to see if you can take direction.

9. No chit chat. They don’t want to hear about the traffic, or how your day is going. Put yourself in their position. They will meet 15-50 performers auditioning in one day. Would you want to hear 50 excuses on why you were late? Go in. Do your best work. Get out. Leave them wanting more instead of having overdosed on you.

9. Auditions, like scenes, have a beginning, middle, and an end. Walk in confidently, take charge of how you want to work, do your job and get out of the room (always leave them wanting more). Once you have left the audition, let it go. You can have a great audition and still not get the job. They just went another way.

10. Casting directors remember good work. Follow all of these steps and you will be called back by the casting director. It may be for that part or it may happen five years down the line. Each successful audition is like money in the bank. Show yourself in the best light possible by being prepared, professional and positive.

Audition Tips for Children

1. Encourage your child to be themselves. If your baby model, child model, teen model or child actor is the best "them" they can be.. you are ahead of the game and will enjoy the whole process as much as the rewards.
2. Some children may be shy and need encouragement. Start gently, keep it fun and do not keep pushing if your child resists.
3. Let the casting directors and children’s agents do their jobs. They do this full time and they want your child to be great.
4. If the audition has lines or takes place in a specific scene, Work with your child in the waiting room only, do not coach them in the audition room. Keep it fun and light.
5. Show up to audition casting calls on time or early if possible. That way you can both relax before the audition. Be professional.
6. Parents should be supportive and protective. Your child will not get many of the parts they try out for. Only one child gets each part. It is important for you and your child to learn to deal with rejection. There will always be another audition. Keep it fun and light.
7. Don’t take rejection personally. Maybe today they wanted a redhead. Or perhaps they decided on a three year old and not a two year old. Just because you didn't book this job, does not mean you did anything wrong.

In an attempt to fix your problem—these subconscious emotional immaturities—

On top of this memory statistic, addictive behaviors are learned automatic responses to triggers.

This type of triggered learning was first explained by Russian Physician, Dr. Ivan Pavlov, and nicknamed named “Pavlov’s Law”.

Pavlov tested ringing a bell while simultaneously presenting dogs with food. Before long, the dogs ‘learned’ to salivate to the sound of the bell, without the food. The bell became a ‘trigger’ for the response of salivation.

Addictions have triggers just like the bell. On the 10% conscious level they don’t seem to make reasonable sense. The reasons lie in the 90%.

Obviously if a form of counseling worked and made logical sense, without taking years to complete, men would be more enthusiastic.

So, what’s the solution?

Scientists have shown that if you touch a precise location on the brain with an electrode, the memory stored in this location, and all the feelings associated with this memory, will surface.

If we could ‘touch’ the forgotten 90% of our traumatic, childhood memories locked deep in our subconscious…WE COULD SEE AND QUICKLY FIX THE ROOT CAUSE OF OUR BEHAVIORS (including troubled thinking)…no longer being endlessly controlled by the ‘personal bells’ that TRIGGER our addictive behaviors.

And I am about to DIRECT YOU TO EXPERIENCE the most profound and influential knowledge about addiction known to man.

As “extreme” as that sounds, it is VERY true. Pay close attention.

Here’s the deal:

Human Behavior has never been a fascination for me. It’s been an Obsession.

For years I researched how to improve my behavior to be the best I could be…

…and although therapy is a valid part of our culture, and thousands of books have been written on the subject, it was TOO SLOW and TOO COSTLY for me…

I’m not talking about “that” kind of therapy.

I’m talking about the kind of instant change that I heard about with hypnosis, such as:

Losing 50 lbs in 6 MONTHS
Ending Depression
Relieving Anxiety
Smoking Cessation, etc.
However, as I continued to research these amazing results, I soon learned that:

Even clinical hypnosis wasn’t effect on certain addictions long term.

WHY?

Because removing the symptom doesn’t remove the root subconscious issue.

The core issue morphs into another form—a new symptom!

For example, a person quits smoking through hypnosis and then gains 30 LBS.
Still intrigued, I imagined what it would be like to access this ‘super power’ of addiction release, if possible…

…but most of what I found ‘out there’ was useless for my ‘inner struggles’.

I had reached a point in my search where 99% of the info I found was regurgitated old information…the books, manuals and audio programs I purchased didn’t hold my interest.

They were too long, too complicated, and too much work—OR they just didn’t offer the RESULTS I WANTED.

They even TOLD ME that WHAT I WANTED WASN’T POSSIBLE!

For example: AA and SAA (and other 12 Step Programs)

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Sex Addiction Anonymous (SAA) are hugely popular programs with, in my opinion, less than successful results (about a 5% remission rate).

I’m not here to bash AA—or any other 12 step-program. I acknowledge the value of these programs.

At the same time, I found several problems that I could not come to terms with.

1-The successful remission rate of people who independently quit an addiction is the same as SAA and AA…5%. This success rate was not high enough for me.

2-The necessity of believing in a higher power greater than myself in order to heal left me to assume that atheists would necessarily be excluded from this program. This conditional requirement results in excluding those who do not share a belief in a higher power. I was seeking a program that believes in me, as I am. I was not willing to accept conditions.

3-The statement “Hi I’m Taz and I’m an alcoholic” or (sex addict) did not feel entirely true to me. As a matter of fact, it felt downright disempowering.

The truth for me is this:

I come from a family of alcohol addiction, and although it is true that in the past (even if my past was yesterday) I have experienced myself as an alcoholic, this is NOT WHO I AM.

I Will Not Tell myself that I AM, AND ALWAYS WILL BE, SOMETHING THAT I AM NOT.

What I wanted was to acknowledge the truth of my past experience, access my own power, and then CHANGE MY FUTURE EXPERIENCE. I wanted to be able to drink alcohol in moderation—without abusing it, myself, or anyone else around me in the process.

Ditto all these for love and sex addiction



Another example: Pastoral Counseling

My attempts to dominate, control, or overrule my behavior with SELF DISCIPLINE or SHEER WIILLPOWER, even with God’s help, didn’t work long term. Why?

They didn’t address my bottom line, subconscious issue…

…and Shame and Guilt don’t work long-term.

At the end of my rope, I found what EXACTLY what I was looking for…

I found a subculture of practitioners—therapists devoted to inspire human behavior on a level I never knew existed—
