Maintenance Mechanic

Consumer products manufacturer is presently searching for a Entry level Maintenance Mechanic on 2nd shift or 3rd shift to join their Chicago facility.
Our client is a big believer of providing a team oriented environment, stability, overtime pay and great benefits
This is a hands-on role and they are expecting mechanics to be able to work hard for 8-10 hours from start to finish.
They need qualified mechanics and electricians to assist with the expansion

Position Responsibilities

Meet plant objectives in safety, quality, cost and customer care
Project work for capital equipment installations. Involved with troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining new equipment
Repair, maintain, and install equipment to ensure continuous production operations
Provide technical support for efficient troubleshooting / problem solving activities and maintenance repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime
Maintain and repair all equipment in operation which includes pumps, motors, servomotors, VFD’s, PLC’s, wrappers, conveyors, mixers, presses, molding equipment, extrusion equipment, high-speed packagers, formers, bottlers, case erectors, robotics and more
Troubleshoot PLC’s
Maintain and repair all electrical issues
Fill in on mechanical issues when needed

Prefer Associates or other technical discipline or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Prefer military veterans
Strong electrical or mechanical skills with understanding of how to troubleshooting and solve problems
Demonstrated experience with some of the following: Allen Bradley PLC controllers, variance frequency drives (VFD’s), hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, conveyors, motors, welding, fabrication, etc.
Must have 1+ years of maintenance manufacturing experience required or equivalent military or training experience (certificates or AAS)
Able to enter data into Microsoft Excel and preventative maintenance systems
Self-motivated, positive attitude, punctual and wiling to work overtime when necessary
