Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope(R), a division of Oldcastle, is the leading supplier of products specified to close the building envelope. They include: custom:engineered curtain wall and window wall, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors, skylights and architectural glass.
The CAD Technician is responsible for creating and maintaining architectural detail drawings of interior systems and products for use by design and construction professionals. The CAD Technician is also responsible for development of additional CAD generated graphic content to be used in technical documents, sales and marketing collateral, and in presentation and/or instructional materials. The ideal candidate would be a team player with professional experience in developing architectural isometric and 3:D model renderings using AutoCAD. A working knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) is preferred.
:Develop architectural and technical detail drawings and 3D rendered models.
:Assemble, label, and post:process CAD drawings and renderings.
:Maintain and build out a standardized database of CAD materials, colors, layouts, modeling and publishing standards.
:Provide a high level of attention and focus towards the creation of complex technical documents that are scrutinized for accuracy and consistency and are regularly revised and reviewed.
:Ability to take direction and work analytically and independently to accomplish assignments/goals within specified deadlines.
:Must be a team player with ability to collaborate and interact with others in multiple inter:office departments.
:Keep up:to:date and adopt latest tools and technologies in technical drawing and illustration to maintain competitive advantage.
:Experience developing architectural or technical details using AutoCAD preferred.
:Fundamental knowledge of CAD file formats and how to work interchangeably between platforms and understanding of image file types used in the CAD process, image resolutions, sizing, etc.
:Knowledge of architectural detailing, drawing principles, building construction methods and materials.
:Knowledge of engineering principles and building science preferred.
:Graphic illustration skills. Ability to storyboard technical illustrations.
:Excellent organizational and analytical skills, detail and precision oriented.
:Customer service, presentation and speaking skills preferred.
