A Property and Casualty Personal Insurance team member responsible for processing of core functions through the underwriting lifecycle. Employee will be the primary point of contact for all renewal business throughout the unit, in addition to endorsement referrals and inspection disputes. In this highly visible and critical role you will interact daily with individuals from other departments and brokers.

Key Position Responsibilities Include:

Responsible for marketing and underwriting a book consisting of large accounts and complex risks
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Meet renewal retention goals through strong negotiation and communication skills which may involve onsite meetings with brokers, clients, or centers of influence.
  • Analyze current policy data including billing, inspection reports and loss runs to make educated decision on renewal PCG business.
  • Identify and target new business and cross sell opportunities by building relationships with producers and account managers.
  • Understand and adhere to authority guidelines
  • Ensure polices contain all compliance related documentation
  • Adhere to department standards and objectives

Technical Skills
  • Understanding of rating factors
  • Basic organizational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to achieve stated time service standards as outlined for particular role/function
  • Demonstrate the ability to achieve quality objectives as outlined for particular role/function

Position Requirements:

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience).

  • 3-5 years of Personal Lines Property & Casualty Insurance experience.

  • Three years’ experience of underwriting highly technical risks.

  • Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and communication skills.

  • Must be well-organized and have the ability to work independently as to "own" their book of business.

  • Positive, energetic, self-motivated, and possesses strong interpersonal skills.

  • Microsoft Excel knowledge.
