Purpose
The Production Manager provides leadership for the manufacturing organization and plans, directs, and coordinates the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, and quantity specifications. This position reports to the Director, Operations and is located in Niles, IL.

Duties and Responsibilities
:
Direct/Manage all aspects of Production;
:
Review processing schedules of production orders to make decisions concerning staffing requirements, work procedures, or duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints;
:
Identify and address ongoing training requirements for shop floor personnel to assure products produced meet customer expectations.
:
Coordinate with appropriate functional groups, including Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and others to resolve problems, expedite materials or processes, and determine priorities;
:
Assure activities within defined scope are accomplished in accordance with IPEG policies, sound business practices, and in a way that promotes an open and creative work environment;
:
Ensure that all parts, assemblies, and final products are produced on schedule and according to established quality requirements;
:
Proactively handle personnel issues with support from your Manager and Human Resources:
:
Support continuous improvement initiatives;
:
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Work Experience
:
Associates Degree in Engineering (or related field) and/or ten (7)+ years of direct work experience without formal education;
:
Position typically expects six (6)+ years of direct/relevant experience based on scope of position and in area of supervision with one (1) year of leadership responsibility;
:
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods;
:
Demonstrate leadership, project management, facilitation, and problem solving skills;
:
Familiarity with Lean and Continuous Improvement principles;
:
Ability to function in a team environment;
:
Must be able to interact within all levels of the company;
:
Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills;
:
Sound reasoning and decision:making ability; strong analytical skills.

Physical and Mental Requirements
:

Lift objects from one level to another (50 lbs. or less)

Carry objects (30 lbs. or less)
:
Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, etc.

Stoop/crouch by bending your legs or bending down/forward at the waist

Walk around the facility on foot
