We seek a Managing Director with strong executive leadership skills and a passion for the arts and new play development for the theatre, stage and emerging medias. This is a fulltime, salaried position. As the chief administrative executive of the organization, the Managing Director is responsible for the company’s financial and business operations and is responsible for publicity, fundraising, grant writing, and donor management.

The Managing Director is an ex officio full voting member of the Board of Directors, and is accountable directly to them. The Managing Director occupies a position equal to but separate from the Artistic Director.

Ideal candidate will have:

· An internal drive for excellence coupled with a passionate, high-energy approach to leadership

· Strong business acumen leading to an ability to "connect the dots" for the organization's artistic, operational and financial goals

· Outstanding communication skills with an ability to build confidence and commitment from board, peers and subordinates in a variety of settings

· A bias toward strategic thinking coupled with an enthusiasm for rolling up their sleeves and digging into problems and opportunities

· Experience leading diverse teams and developing capability in others through mentorship and coaching.

Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience required (master’s preferred).
