About the Fellowship:

In late 2015 LATITUDE developed the Fellowship Program to provide essential training for artists interested in arts administration. Three Lab Assistants interested in furthering their involvement in the organization worked closely with the Executive Director to distribute the administrative duties and advance the collective learning structure that is essential to the organization's mission. This program has been carrying forward successfully into 2017 and has proven to be a springboard for fellows into their future pursuits.

The Fellowship Program consists of three complementary positions focused on education, programming, and communications. Fellows influence the organization's development and direction while receiving mentorship from staff and board members while working alongside the Executive Director. Fellows are encouraged to bring their personal interests to the position and take initiative to tailor their experience at LATITUDE. Fellows are required to maintain one full on-site shift a week, attend weekly staff meetings, and assist in events on and off site, approximating 15 hrs a week. And in exchange receive a $150/month honorarium, free membership and ink charges in the LATITUDE lab, and opportunities for continued technical and administrative education.

About the Programming Fellow:

The Programming Fellow works closely with the monthly Artists-in-Residence before, during and after their residency and acts as their primary point of contact. The Programming Fellow will assist in the conception, planning, and crafting of language for Resident events, and any additional programming opportunities. The Programming fellow assists in the selection of the upcoming year of LATITUDE Residents. The Programming fellow should be interested in working closely with artists and developing professional communication and critical writing skills. This individual should possess good organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, and an interest in working closely with LATITUDE Resident artists. This position is a 1-year commitment.

Please note that LATITUDE is also currently hiring an Education Fellow for 2018. Please see our other posting for more details.
