Primary Functions

The Exhibits & Development Manager is a key member of the Museum team, and is directly responsible for managing the conceptualization and production of Museum exhibits, and all aspects of related fundraising. This is a development oriented role, with a strong emphasis on fundraising.

Duties and Responsibilities


Develops compelling exhibit projects with high public demand and strong potential donor bases

Conceptualizes exhibits, and determines their layout and locations within the Museum

Plans and executes exhibit production

Budgets and accounts for exhibit costs


Fundraises for exhibits, interacting with a range of donors (individual, corporate, foundation, government) to meet pre-determined fundraising targets

Develops compelling sponsorship packages for exhibits

Writes and applies for grants; files final reports

Manages the Museum annual fund campaign


Develops e-communications and marketing materials

Manages the Museum website, powered by Wordpress


Manages two interns working on existing collection management projects


Fluency in Microsoft Office and G-Suite

Fluency is Wordpress or related CMS, and Social Media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) preferred

Minimum 2 years fundraising experience preferred

Previous grant writing experience preferred

Previous experience in Museums or related institutions preferred

Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

Proactive with ability to problem solve

Ability to produce high quality work on deadline and keep multiple projects active at once

Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills

Bachelor's degree preferred

Excellent written and spoken communications skills

Self starter, motivated, and a team player
