A Day in the Life of a Director of Finance:Responsible for the all general accounting, and financial and data reporting functions of the organization. Under the direct supervision of the Plan President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) the Director of Finance is responsible for ensuring that the Plan is in compliance with all applicable regulations, including regulatory and financial performance monitoring and reporting requirements. The Director of Finance must also coordinate between the CFO and its direct reports, : Manager of Accounting, Manager of Financial and Data Analysis, Administrative Coordinator Finance, the Plan CEO and itA?s direct reports.All general accounting functions, including oversight and maintenance of all financial records of the organization, month end close and preparation of interim financial statements for all entitiesPreparation and submission of quarterly and annual state required reportsAnnual Budget Preparation, including distribution of monthly department variance reportsAnnual Audit coordinationCoordination of Periodic State Department of Insurance Examinations and Taxing Authority examinationsCoordination of external actuary activitiesOversight of Financial and Data Analysis reporting, including review of reports, analysis of system capabilitiesParticipation on Efficiency CommitteeReconciliation of revenue amounts to contractAnalysis of utilization and medical expensesOversight of cash management and investment programsDevelopment of financial policy and procedureAnalyze and assist with obtaining insurance coverage and renewals, including all business policies and reinsuranceDevelopment, implementation and maintenance of Internal Audit and Purchasing programs, and other programs as may be necessarySupervise Administrative Coordinator Finance position to insure effective workload distribution and time managementWhat you can bring to Meridian:BachelorA?s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.MBA or CPA is preferred.Minimum of 7 : 10 years experience in health care setting and a minimum of 5 years experience in Managed Care are required.Experience in using PC:based software packages, including Word, Excel, Access, and experience with accounting, statutory reporting software, and investment reporting software is required.What Meridian can offer you:Our healthcare benefits include a variety of PPO plans that are effective on the first day of employment for our new full:time team members.
