Lanco is currently searching for a skilled Benefit Coordinator for our Hazel Crest, IL office. The Benefit Coordinator is an integral role in helping employees understand their company benefits.
They will be responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, Leave of Absence Policy including short: and long:term disability, and 401(k) plan, and other company benefits.
Some of the Essential Functions include:
:Assisting with Open Enrollment process and benefit communication
:Conducting benefits orientations and explain benefits self:enrollment system.
:Assisting employees with health, dental, life, disability and other related benefit claims.
:Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
:Working with accounting to fund Health Savings Accounts, 401K contributions, and RRSP monies
:Reviewing and responding to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation. Review monthly unemployment statements.
:Preparing and setting up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices.
:Responding to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
:Processing and administering all leave:of:absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA. Effectively interpret FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of
absences/disabilities including state specific disability plans and leave of absence laws
:Responding to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes, loans, hardship withdrawals, and contribution amounts. Managing the annual catch:up contribution enrollment.
:Administering the tuition reimbursement program.
:Providing necessary reports for allocation/billing charges. Reconciles vendor invoices for payments
:Completing the annual 401K and Pension plan audits and assists with the end of year compliance and discrimination testing
:Helping to maintain vendor interfaces
:Assisting HR manager in completing benefits reporting requirements including requirements under the ACA
:Special projects and other duties as assigned
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in human resources or related field.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM:CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM:SCP) or benefits specific certification.
3+ years of prior benefit administration experience required.
Effective communication skills, oral and written with the ability to effectively communicate with people in potentially stressful situations.
Experience in Word, Excel, and HRIS with experience in Ultipro preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
