Educational Requirements:
2 or 4 year degree in turfgrass/horticulture or a related program
Experience Requirements:
Experience preferred, but not required. Biltmore is willing to train. Graduation from a 2 or 4 year accredited University in turf management preferred, Spanish speaking a plus.
The applicant will work closely with the superintendent and Senior Assistant in all facets of golf course maintenance.

Biltmore prides itself in doing many projects in-house with recent golf course improvements including greens drainage, leveling and sodding new/existing tees, installing brick pavers, etc.

The applicant will be exposed to drainage, tree maintenance, sodding, irrigation repair, fertilizer and spray applications, etc. The applicant will experience equipment maintenance, managing flower and chemical cooperatives, and perform turf research with the CDGA. This year Biltmore purchased the latest in GPS spraying equipment.

The applicant should have a strong work ethic and willingness to improve themselves. We are looking for a self-motivator and proactive individual who aspire to become a golf course superintendent.

Biltmore manages and works with the Illinois EPA in monitoring Honey Lake (65 acre lake owned by the club). We are Tier III certified in the volunteer lake management program supervised by the Illinois EPA. Biltmore is also Audubon Certified.

Next fall we will be rebuilding 10 greens, which will then complete our long range plan of re-surfacing/ rebuilding all greens. Biltmore Country Club is a private golf course located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with an operating budget of $1.25 million and capital budget for equipment of ~$150k/yr.

Biltmore is an 18 hole golf course with mostly bent greens, tees, and fairways and at the peak season employs ~25 people.
