Account Manager


Our company is growing!

As a result, we are looking for another dedicated Account Manager. Planstone Account Managers partner with association education managers and/or meeting planners in providing software for abstract, speaker, disclosure and handout management as well as credit claiming and evaluations. Organized and Detailed – Are you? Please make sure by asking everyone you know because it is really important for this position. You will be creating & managing Basecamp projects, documenting each client’s process, managing 20-30 clients year round. Planstone runs efficiently because our Account Managers are organized and detailed.

Industry Knowledge – Are you or have you been an education manager? If so, perfect! Understanding our clients’ processes is extremely important in optimizing our software products. Do you understand the association/conference meeting industry? If so, this is a huge plus.

Excellent Customer Service – As the central point of contact for our clients you must have top notch communication skills and enjoy relationship building. We work with our clients: in-person, over the phone, thru Go To Meeting and via Basecamp. Talking with each client to determine Planstone’s role in the process and how best we can work together is key to Planstone’s success.

Software Savvy & Accepting of Change – Understanding and using software is what we do. Embracing change each and every day as the product grows and as our clients’ needs change is what it is about. Just because it was done a certain way in the past does not mean that is how it will be accomplished in the future. We need open minded, forward thinkers.

Coordinating project schedules, resources, setup and information
Liaise with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives
Ensuring that clients’ needs are met as the project evolves
Break projects into doable actions and set timeframes in Basecamp
Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management in Basecamp
Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants in Basecamp
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation in Confluence
Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance tests

Planstone is located in Naperville, a western suburb of Chicago.


Proven work experience as an Account Manager, Project Coordinator, or similar role
Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
An ability to prepare and interpret needs of clients, solutions with use of different software modules, schedules and step-by-step action plans
Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
Hands-on experience with project management tools (e.g. Basecamp or Trello)
