Responsible for planning, organizing, supervising and evaluating the physical education program of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago.Develops, implements, and administers a comprehensive physical education and recreation program that meets the needs and interests of all Club members.Prepares daily, weekly, and monthly program plans.Ensures gender equity in all programs.Teaches fundamental skills and rules for various games and sports emphasizing fair play and friendship.Supervises the gymnasium, fields and other sports.Ensures that members are respectful of each other and the equipment.Administers first aid to minor injuries and reports all injuries to the Program anizes intramural leagues and tournaments.Provides informal counseling to members, encouraging them to participate in other programs in the Club and referring youth to other staff members when appropriate.Evaluates department programs and documents all activities to submit to the Program Director.Supervises care and maintenance of department equipment, supplies and facilities.Purchases department equipment and supplies as needed within budget limitations.Other duties as assigned.Experience in Recreation and Physical Education , Associate Degree or higher in recreation, physical education or related field preferred.Experience in developing and implementing fitness and sports programs.Background in direct service work with youth, ages 6:18.Proficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelBasic First Aid SkillsSuccessfully pass a criminal background check
