My client is looking for a Senior Oracle Database Administrator for their location in Chicago, IL. This is a temp position for a duration of 2-3 months.

My client is open to rates. Local U.S. candidates only.

This contract role offers 10 to 20 hours work per week.

Develop procedures for database monitoring, maintenance, backup, recovery, automated alerts and patch management;
Performance tuning of all database applications; SQL, Oracle
Work directly with users and developers to translate functional requirements into technical specifications yielding an optimized application;
Assist developers to optimize their code as it relates to database access as well as identify tuning opportunities and recommend performance enhancements;
Implement changes to database objects (table, indexes, constraints, triggers, views, and stored procedures) in development, test and production environments;
Analyze system software and hardware to resolve problems and recommend enhancements for increased performance and ease of use;
Create and maintain system documentation of database applications;
Handle all requests to refresh data to the Test and Development Environments;
Ensure integrity of databases;
Ensure availability, scalability, backup and recovery of enterprise databases using Oracle tools;
Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of database environments;
Guarantee that the data in the Database is secure to comply with the Risk Assurance Program;
Provide appropriate auditing to comply with Risk Assurance Program.
Manage and maintain Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) and Linux servers associated with the Oracle database environment including the installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of hardware components on the Oracle Database Appliance along with Oracle Linux system management and maintenance;
Support the Real Application Cluster (RAC) running on Oracle Database Appliances.

Support and maintain the Oracle Linux environment;
Interpret data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports;
Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality;
Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintaining databases/data analysis systems.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required;
5-10 years of relational database administration experience in a client/server environment, with a relational database specifically Oracle Database Appliance and SQL Server;
Experience in database administration as well as in application database design required;
Ability to read and understand written documentation and specifications related to computer operations development and support and database installation set up and support;
Ability to input information and read output from a video display screen;
