Capitalize assets as they are placed in service, and record transfers and dispositions of assets in the fixed assets system and communicate with departmental personnel involved in these processes. Preparation of monthly journal entries and reconciliation and review of general ledger accounts. Execute various processes associated with the monthly close. Review and process capital AFEs (Authorization for Expenditures). Circulate through SharePoint for approvals. Create, budget and release approved internal orders in SAP. Self:assess sales and use tax on capitalized fixed assets. Prepare quarterly and annual book and tax reconciliation. Maintain scrap database, scrap reporting, rate auditing and control. Other duties and special projects as assigned. Prepare Post Project Evaluations. Maintain master schedule of projects to be evaluated. Provide support as needed for quarterly and annual audits. Coordinate periodic physical inventory counts of non:transportation fixed assets. Conduct annual impairment reviews.
:Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred with knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
:Experience with General Ledger. Prior experience with fixed assets preferred.
:Must be proficient in Excel
:Strong systems aptitude. Must be able to utilize multiple accounting and reporting systems
:Strong analytical and communication skills
:Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment or independently as needed
:Strong time management skills
:Excellent interpersonal skills
:Strong attention to detail, with ability to meet time:sensitive deadlines and carry out multiple priorities
